Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Pittsburgh. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in Pennsylvania are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5 PMβ1 AM. Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Pittsburgh peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The price for high tea is diabolical for the amount of food they provide and the quality. The sandwiches were tiny and essentially just an egg salad and chicken salad sandwich. $55 per person for tiny little bites of food. We had a group of four and we only received one tray of food; we each had one little sandwich and one little pastry. We spent roughly $250 (with tip and tax) for a small amount of mediocre food. Additionally, service was slow and they had pre-set tea flavors. Usually, at a high tea, you have an array of options to select from. Lastly, the scones were terrible - had an odd taste, I couldnβt quite tell but it tasted like too much salt or baking soda was used. On a positive note, the William Penn is a beautiful hotel and has a lovely atmosphere. Your money is better spent elsewhere unfortunately.

Had a birthday gathering and high tea at Palm Court. Carpet was sticky and dirty. We actually had to ask them to vacuum up the mess. Table was dirty. Silverware had to be sent back. I asked if they accidentally set us at a table that wasnβt cleaned?β¦ no answer. The service was terrible. Tea was not hot, had to wait forever for them to come with hot water, the food tasted like it was frozen foodβterrible. This is the worst high tea we all ever had in our life. We all have traveled extensively to Asia and Europe, and other places in the States for high tea. Donβt waste your money going here. The better places are: The Inn on Negleyβfresh High Tea and Flowers in the Atticβfantastic.

We stayed in the William Penn Hotel a few weeks back and enjoyed dinner here at Palm Court. I would recommend the gumbo soup, it was very flavorful! πThere was a small mistake with my drink, but Brady, our server, was quick to get it fixed! Good food and even better service! π 4 βοΈs only because their main restaurant and speakeasy were closed.

Experience a perfect tea party in a stunning historic setting. If you are visiting Pittsburgh, take time for high tea. Our sandwiches were chicken salad on mini croissants, locks with cream cheese and cucumbers, and egg salad. Following this were warm scones, mini lemon tarts, macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries as well as other fruit and confections. We each received an individual tea pot with our chosen specialized tea. They also feature a special menu with peanut butter and jelly finger sandwiches for younger ladies & gentlemen. Add some good company for a lovely afternoon of sweetness.

High tea food was bland and stale. Service was non existent. They seated us by loud drunk wedding reception people near the bar. This was not worth my time or money. My favorite high tea in Pittsburgh is still Frick cafe, which has much more interesting, fresh and yummy ingredients in their food, and the servers are very attentive. Avoid Palm Court tea.
